#264: Authenticity - The Gun Show

Authenticity
The Gun Show

Genre: Deathcore

Lets get this straight that everyone around you is not what they seem.
We are all living a double life, what our spirit wants the flesh denies.
Why is it that we as Christians can go through the motions so perfectly.
That our speech is a well oiled machine and the lies just come so naturally.

Wear that mask, like its who we really are inside.
Who are we fooling, this world can tell a fake from initial conversation.
We wear that mask, in hopes that no one finds out what a mess we are.
Who are we fooling, only people at your church believe you.

Wipe that smile off of your face, what’s the point of being so fake.
Everyone of us has pain, do we really trust in who we claim.
We need a transformation.

Your pride is bringing you to the point of lying to yourself,
pretending that you're better than everyone who doesn't believe like you.
But how does puffing up your chest portray a love you say you know.
A love that came to this Earth to live as flesh and blood.
So He could dwell with the same type of people,
you won’t even acknowledge, we've got it backwards.

We must all learn to live transparent lives, for we all are sinners by nature.

We're no better than anyone else.
We all know where we come from, all that remains is a choice.

#263: The Girl - The Gun Show

The Girl
The Gun Show

Genre: Deathcore

You are beautiful, every curve and intricate detail is crafted in a delicate mold.
Form the softest touch of your skin to the warmth of your gentle heart you are truly beautiful.
You were uniquely made so stop judging yourself based off of other girls' looks.
Wake up and open your eyes for your emotional insecurities will be the end of you.

You will let those negative thoughts in your head
fuel your actions and dictate how your life is lead.
Founded on lies upon lies of how you think the world will view yourself.
The more see the more you think the more you find.
That you believe your self-worth is based off of.
The attention that you get from the people in the world around you.
But that leaves your self-confidence lacking.
With those painful emotions running away with you
but how can anyone like you if you can’t even like yourself?

So you look for attention in all the wrong ways.
Wanting love but lust is all you’ll find.
So what reaction do you expect to get from your lack of modesty?
Disrespect yourself and disrespect is all you’ll see from men.

You are precious in the eyes of God
you were never met to be the object of lust.
You are precious in the eyes of God
you were never met to be the objects of lust.

Please know that those insecurities are nothing but lies.
They come in many forms and they’ll lead you to believe you’re not good enough to have a happy life.
Don’t give in to lies.
Don’t put so much weight on seeking after relationships.
I charge you O’ daughters of Jerusalem.
By the gazelles or by the does of the field.
Do not stir up nor awaken love until it so pleases.

#262: Abandoned - To Bow or To Burn

Abandoned
To Bow or To Burn

Genre: Deathcore

Where is my spirit?
Why has this made me question you?
Every care I've shown has been erased.
Where is Your spirit as my heart begs to be renewed?
Hollowed out and broken, this suffering has no end.
I'm holding on to every thing that every moment brings.
With comfort fleeting, another piece is torn away.

I cannot see, my sight is darkened with rebuke.
Into the depths I've fallen, without a single sound of truth.

For every time I've fallen, a new beginning waits.
Desperately reaching for you, is this Your testing grace?
Every time I've fallen, a new beginning waits.
Desperately reaching for you, this is Your testing grace.

I can't believe You'd abandon me.
I can't believe. I will not believe.

Falling from Your grace, I've seen the depths for far too long.

Where is my spirit?
Why has this made me question you?
Every care I've shown has been erased.
Where is Your spirit? As my heart begs to be renewed.
Hollowed out and broken.
This suffering has no end...
